Under the Sea: Girls Birthday Party
Today we share with you a darling Under the Sea birthday party sent in by one of our readers. With a few tips from DLD, Jessica pulled off this fun and perfectly themed party for her 3 year old daughter. Jessica is a woman after our own hearts. She understands the importance of how little details bring the whole event together. Many time people forget that along with parties comes an abundance of goodies. Putting a lot of attention into the food can make for a crowd pleasing adventure! We will let the photos speak for themselves and show you the details in all their glory.A few words from Jessica the darling momma: My daughter Holland adores mermaids so naturally this theme was a no brainer for me. While I had some ideas, I wasn't sure where to go with it all. There were just so many options. After some pondering, I contacted Amanda with Design Loves Detail and she was able to narrow down my vision and lead me down the right path, to what became our Under the Sea party. We picked bright and fun colors of teal and lime and accented the decor with fishing nets, star fish and blue marbles that looked bubbles. The kitchen is the main hub at our home and is where we all conjugate to during events, so I wanted the food to be as much for a show stopper as the decor. In fact, I wanted the food to be part of the decor. With Amanda's help, we came up with a creative menu the had our guests Oohing and Awing! Dessert sushi made of rice krispies, Swedish fish and fruit rolls. Too Cute!To keep the little ones entertained, we built mini oceans in bottles that also doubled as their party favors. They filled the bottles with sand, colored water and mini shells to mimic a ocean in a bottle. This kept them entertained for a while and even the parents were joining in on the fun. Each little one went home with a bucket filled with goodies. They contained treats like bubbles, growing sea creatures, sea urchins, suckers, and fishing poles.
