Ocean in a Bottle: DIY with DLD

DIY

As a follow up to yesterdays post, we thought we would share with you the activity breakdown, that our reader Jessica, shared with us yesterday for her daughters 3rd birthday. We loved making these mini oceans and we know your Little's will too!SUPPLIES.........................

  • Plastic bottles (any shape or size)
  • Fine grain sand
  • Mini shells
  • Corks
  • Small funnel

Begin by placing the funnel into the bottle and slowly pour in the sand. Fill up about 1/3 of the way or desired level.Next drop in the mini shells and add water. The slower you add the water, the better result you will get. Pouring too fast will mix the sand and cause the water to become murky.Final step is to tightly push the cork into the bottle. Make sure when buying the corks that they fit well into the bottle. This can be a real doozy if not.Presto- in less than 5 minutes, you have your own ocean in a bottle.Have a fun DIY project you'd like to share? We would love to see it! Share it with us at info@designlovesdetail.com.
