Summer Picnic: Americana style
Happy Friday everyone! How many of you are looking forward to the weekend? We sure are! But before we head out for some fun in the sun, we want to share a fun inspiration shoot just in time for the 4th of July; Americana style. For this shoot, I really wanted to stress how quickly and inexpensively you can pull together a fun summer picnic. I put together this shoot in matter of a couple of hours (insert a little time for cherry pickin' and eating). But what's really great about this particular inspiration, is that each of these items can be sourced at your local craft store, grocery store and in your own backyards. Check it out!
I love sunflowers for summer. They are so cheery, bright and add so much punch to an arrangement. I picked up these beauties at my local grocery store along with some blue delphinium. I already had the pot the florals were held in but you can find one at your thrift store for a $1 (I saw one just today). I also used fresh fruit as part of the decor. It's both colorful and edible. And if that wasn't reason enough, it's free! BONUS!
For a no hassle way to transport your yummy edibles, use these brown boxes and fill them with your food ahead of time. Each person gets there own box and they double as fun decor. I promise everyone will be loving these!
For place mats, I swung by Dollar Tree and picked up some gingham cupboard liner. Simply cut it into your desired shape and it makes for the perfect disposable placemat. They won't slip and they look great even if they get spilled on.
