Shelf Styling
I couldn’t wait to get these shelves decorated!! They’re a big part of the entry & welcome into our home so I had a pretty clear vision of what I wanted. And MINIMAL was key. I’ll probably adjust these over time, but after trying out quite a few options (see my IG reel from today ;) I am feeling pretty good with how they look! I wanted to include some character pieces & items from travel so they felt unique. And I always love using books— it’s like you can never have too many books! For the sake of simplicity, I try to keep the books in a similar color palette. I also often remove the shiny jacket around my books so that they feel more subtle/neutral.
Mixing in smaller framed art pieces is a fun way to add charm. It’s also a good way to establish the feel/color tones for a space. You can buy these pre-framed art pieces below or purchase the Etsy downloads to print + frame your own! I also incorporated a lot of stone pieces. I love travertine, raw wood and vintage pottery for adding that curated feel. With the more neutral colors I love to design with— texture & shape become really important for keeping things interesting! The clay beads & fluted bowl are great examples of shapes/textures that add interest to the shelves. With a minimal style you want to make every piece count! I love this collected feel— adding finds from our travels and past homes to make it unique!
