Little Green Pouch is the brainchild of Maggie and her childhood friend Melissa. The story began during one of my routine grocery store visits with my two sons. With the hope of getting through a peaceful shopping trip, I caved and decided to try the new food pouches that I recently noticed stocked throughout my grocery store. As I popped the tops off the pouches, a miracle ensued—I watched in amazement as my boys sat quietly in the cart, working out ounces of healthy fruits and veggies, which they wouldn’t dare eat out of a bowl. By the time the empty pouches laid shriveled in her cart, I realized that I had all of the items on her shopping list. Someone’s product had just made my life easier—I was in love.However, my romance with food pouches was short lived. While I loved the ease of being able to neatly feed my boys without having to lug around spoons, bibs, bowls and breakable jars, I found that the pouches were expensive and offered a limited variety of foods. Not to mention, I cringed each time I had to throw the single-use packages in the trash. That is when I realized the world needed a “reusable” food pouch that could be filled with healthy fresh food time and again.With my reusable food pouch in mind, I reached out to my close friend (recent new mom of Bailey and designer extraordinaire) Melissa to help. Melissa and I realized that we wanted a product that wasn’t just practical, but that was also beautiful. Something any mom would be proud to whip out at the playground, park or store. After several planning sessions, it became clear that we had the perfect team to make our idea reality, and the Little Green Pouch was born.
What has been your most exciting moment with your company? It has to be when our hometown grocery store, Nugget Markets, which has 9 stores in California and treats their employees like gold, decided to carry our product. Things really came full circle for us at that moment, and it made us (and our moms) so proud. What special little details set your products apart? It has to be our super durable BPA, phthalate and PCV free plastic. Also, the fact that our pouch stands up, helps avoid messes and makes for easier filling. As to what sets our company apart, it has to be our serious commitment to providing exceptional customer service.
