#OneRoomChallenge: Week 3

Playroom loft sketchThis has been one crappy week! All my kids are sick and baby is teething, which means sleep is scarce for everyone and it's hard to keep working on this project, but I know it'll be worth it! Especially when it gets too cold to play outside-- my kids will have an awesome playroom to keep them busy! We met with our finish carpenter to go over the details and I'm including a drawing of our plans for the space above the toy closets. This space has always been planned to be used as a loft area, so it is structurally sound for kids to climb on, that is once the railing is up and it's safer! I just wanted to mention that because you want to make sure if you're adding a loft space that the structure can support the weight. We had to use 2x6 support beams running all across the top of the closet area. Our finish carpentry supplies are being picked up tomorrow and we'll begin the projects this weekend! So hopefully that means I'll have some exciting progress to show next week. We also ordered a little surprise for the room, that I think I'll wait to share about until reveal day. It's gonna be good though... as long as we can make it work! Go check out more awesome projects from The One Room Challange and I sure hope your week has been going better than mine! Haha.MollieSignature
