Flying the Coop: Inspiration for the Urban Farmer
While attending a summer soiree a couple weeks ago, we ran into our good friend Travis with Travis J Photography. While chatting, we stumbled upon the topic of Travis's new chicken coop he had just constructed. Designed with the help of his talented wife Taryn, they came up with the creme de la creme of chicken housing. When imagining this said "coop", we never could have imagined it would look like this. When Travis sent us over these images, we knew we had to share these with our readers! This thing is outstanding and I am pretty sure its bigger than my master bedroom. Insert frown face here. Read on for more on how Travis and Taryn came up with their mansion coop.Q: What was your inspiration behind building the coop?A: 3 years ago my wife and I thought we would hop on the urban farmer bandwagon. We had seen a few food documentaries and felt like raising chickens was something we should do. We built a cheap coop and enjoyed our eggs for about 1 year. One day I forgot to lock the coop and a small family of foxes had a chicken feast. We decided to do it again this year but this time my wife wanted a coop we would be proud off. We looked online and combined a few designs and came up with this palace for chickens.
