Flip House: Exterior Reveal + Patios!
It's finally REVEAL time!!! We've been working hard on updating this worn out 90's home for the past few months & can't wait to show you how it's turned out. Today we've got a look at the before + after pics of the exterior and patio spaces.
See the video tour here:
As you can see the color of this home wasn't doing it any favors... it felt dated and was oversaturated; competing with the surrounding colors of the concrete, yard & sky. Going for a more neutral tone allows the natural elements to stand out with the beautiful pops of green! It also helped neutralize the concrete color to look more subtle! I used Benjamin Moore Revere Pewter for the exterior of the home & kept the white accents as they were (except for we did paint over the little gable elements & the weird part over the window because I think those look best blending in instead of standing out!
Updating exterior light fixtures is one of the best things you can do for a home!! It helps it feel fresh & new with minimal investment. We spent about $300 to get new light fixtures & it was soooo worth it! I'll link my selections below. They look amazing on this house! The outdoor wall sconces are ones I've used on my own home & I love the scale + clean lines they provide!
New patio furniture from Walmart & Home Depot set the scene for an inviting space. I recently shared a sneak peek of the pair of teak barrel back patio chairs I 'm obsessed with. For the back patio I wanted to create a simple dining space with modern style. With the narrow, but long patio set up, I was originally planning to do more of a bistro table style with a couple table & 2 chairs each, but when I thought of the idea to put the 2 tables together against the house it allowed for a more communal type dining experience which I think will be more useful!
I also thought it would be cool to create a little flagstone patio over in the part of the yard that felt most secluded. We were able to relocate one of the larger shrubs to lay a small patio where I could add a couple of adorable egg chairs (linked below!). I love how cozy this little spot is. You can see more of this patio addition in the YouTube video we made!
The finishing touches were adding side tables, vases, greenery & new house numbers too! It's amazing how it feels like a new house! We also had a landscaping crew come help us get the yard trimmed and polished looking. Now get ready for the inside tour! On Wednesday I'll be posting the first bathroom reveal & it's a good one!! XOXO
