Here at Design Loves Detail, there's nothing we love more than unique products and innovative designers. We live for design and love creators like Jahje, of Baby Jives who make beautiful handmade products that inspire us. In keeping with yesterdays theme of April Showers, we just had to share these fabulous raincloud mobiles! If you haven't heard of Baby Jives yet, you're going to thank us. Oh, and it doesn't just stop with fabulous rainclouds, there are also the most beautiful lovebirds, butterflies, sail boats, fish, dragonflies & more! We'll let you see for yourself how whimsical & charming these mobiles are. And we've even got some behind the scenes details from Jahje herself about her creative process, inspiration & designs...1) what inspires you to create? My children. I want to create things that make their eyes light up and that will last to be handed down to their kids years from now.The things I cherish most are those that are imperfect and have a real sense of the person who made them.  I have always loved making things – it’s just part of who I am. When I bring my kids into my studio they always smile and reach for my mobiles. Knowing that my work elicits that kind of response is what keeps me going on those late nights when I am running on fumes.2) what has been your most exciting moment with your company? This past year I was selected to be a finalist for the Martha Stewart American Made Awards. I made it into the top 15 and while I didn't win just making it that far was thrilling. 3) what special little details set your products apart? I studied painting and sculpture and often think of my mobiles as props or sculptures. I tend to pay attention to the smallest detail and want to make works that can grow up with a child or simply exist in any home to inspire wonder.
