#EuropeanOrganicModern: New Home Tour Office Reveal!

Stikwood office ceiling In my last home as my business grew, my office felt pretty small & disorganized so I did a little #OneRoomChallenge overhaul on it to make it function better. You can see that here. It was such a great space and then we ended up moving only about a month after it was complete, so I never got to use it much! That made me want to create a really awesome office space in this new house. Also, with the layout I designed, the office is one of the first rooms you see when you come in, which makes it the perfect space to make a statement with. We had the opportunity for higher ceilings since there isn't a room above it and I thought a tray ceiling with awesome detail would be a great statement maker. Thanks to Stikwood it didn't have to be a complicated process! In case you haven't heard of Stikwood, they are a company that makes gorgeous peel and stick reclaimed wood planks that come prefinished in different colors. I used the Minimalist Fir for the ceiling and love how it turned out. I designed the ceiling to have some beams that intersect and then have the Stikwood laid on a diagonal in the recessed areas as you can see in the photo above. Love how this pattern turned out! Stikwood is a great DIY product and since they've got everything from painted wood to more rustic styles, the options are just about endless!Another really important element in this space is the built in cabinetry by the amazing Deco Design. This stunning cabinet looks like high end furniture thanks to their craftsmanship & attention to detail! It was custom built just for this room and provides lots of great storage. Plus the soft close feature on the doors & drawers is amazing. I'll be sharing more about Deron of Deco Design & his process soon. So many of you blog readers are building homes too, so I think you'll find our upcoming custom cabinetry post full of useful information to aid in making decisions when it comes to selecting a cabinetmaker for your home-- what to look for and how to tell if you're getting truly custom, quality cabinets. I love getting advice from local pros and look forward to sharing more about Deron & Deco Design!Lastly in this space, I wanted to add a fireplace for warmth and a little unexpected detail. My general contractor, Spencer of Clearstone Builders did such a great job making this happen for me! We did a concrete surround for a minimalist style that cozies up the room, but keeps things simple. The wall color I used in the office & throughout my home is Benjamin Moore's Swiss Coffee. The trim is Benjamin Moore's Super White. The office entry & closet door are Boothbay Gray by Benjamin Moore and the cabinet is Wickham Gray, also by Benjamin Moore. At the bottom of this space you can find links to the furnishings, decor and light fixture I used!Photos captured by Travis J PhotographyIn love with this entry and subtle colors.
