#EuropeanOrganicModern: Basement Half Bath Reveal!
Time for another basement project reveal-- this is the half bath! We added this kind of last minute and it was originally going to be a big storage closet. Once we realized we didn't need the storage space, we thought it made perfect sense to have a half bath downstairs so guests wouldn't need to use our son's bathroom.... I mean who knows what condition that space will be in at any given moment! haha.
So I created this space with a modern classic feel and a little European flair of course. I found the most fabulous sconces designed by Mitzi lighting (part of Hudson Valley Lighting Group)! I LOVE THEM. Such a unique, high end design, but for a great price! I also love the arched mirror in an antique brass tone that is a perfect compliment. I even found the most gorgeous towel ring & TP holder as well from Emtek hardware to complete the look! Mixing metals like I did here with the antique brass tones & matte black is one of my favorite things to do! Here's a video I made sharing my tips for mixing metals in your own home:
To balance out the matte black tones in the hardware I brought in a gorgeous matte black tile. This amazing geometric shape tile from Bedrosian's was an instant favorite! I love the bold contrast it has with the taupe/greige vanity. It's classic while still being interesting & fun!
I went with custom countertops (from a remnant piece!) to give the prefab vanity a more unique feel. I love the notched design I created and how it ties in with the subtle curves of the arched mirror & light fixtures-- and even the kitchen hood + built in shelving! I love carrying a design element like this throughout to give a cohesive feel to the overall space. I linked the pieces I used below for you, including the amazing stone sink!
