A Christmas Surprise: Room Makeover with The Home Depot!
I think this may be my favorite project of all time!! After a hard year for my sister and her husband with the loss of his brother, I wanted to do something special for them. I wanted to create a space for them to be able to find some sanctuary amidst their grief. So I set to work planning a surprise holiday refresh makeover for their master bedroom! I was so thrilled that The Home Depot was willing to partner with me to make this dream a reality for my sister & brother in law! The Home Depot has so many amazing furniture & decor products that I was able to easily design this space and order everything online!! One stop shopping is my favorite kind! I am especially loving the StyleWell line & the Home Decorators Collection they carry!
The first piece of my vision was this amazing bed. It's a timeless, neutral style that makes it a great choice for just about any space! I love the subtle contrast it has against the light grey walls (color is "Silver Spoon"). And the price is awesome too! The Home Depot has some incredible furniture and home decor deals right now with their Special Buys! In fact, I found the nightstands for only $89 each! They're a perfect compliment to the bed and a great option for a more narrow space. This room is actually only 10.5ft x 12ft, so space planning and getting the right scale for each piece was very important! I love how many different options there are from HomeDepot.com to fit any size space, home style and budget. Another element that makes a big statement in this room is the gorgeous abstract artwork. It brought all the color tones together and I adore the simple, minimally framed canvas look! It's our focal point for this space and plays a major role in achieving the zen, restful look I was after! It's available in 2 sizes. I used the 30x30 size!
On another note, you know how I feel about quality bedding! This linen striped duvet cover & euro shams are AMAZING (and on sale now)! They're my splurge items for the space and SO worth it. The texture and detail make the entire room feel even more high end & luxurious. Also, how cute are the little ottomans at the end of the bed?! I love them so much. I used the herringbone faux linen ones and I love the dark beige option too! The dark beige color is on a crazy sale right now, FYI (just $92)!
