DLD Holiday Home Tours: A Classic, Jolly Christmas

Classic Christmas Decor from Aria Photography

Today we're so lucky to get to take a peek inside the home of Aria of Aria Photography. She's an amazingly talented local photographer who is simply lovely. We adore her & her excellent style! Here's a look at how she makes her beautiful home "holiday cozy". We love these playful, whimsical images too. She's captured the Christmas magic in her festive holiday decor. And here is our little Q & A with her too...

Q: What is your favorite part of decorating for the holidays?
The excitement when we pull out the boxes of decorations, and it’s like saying hello to old friends. I grew up loving being able to play with all of the Christmas ornaments and characters around the house, so I have continued that tradition in our home…even when it’s hard to watch the decorations slowly deteriorating each year by the hands of my curious children.

Q: How would you describe your design style?
I love the classic, jolly Christmas. Like the Coca Cola Santa. I’m drawn to anything vintage Christmas with the true reds and greens.

Q: What do you think is key to making a cozy, holiday home?
Music playing around the clock. Fire in the fireplace. Sprigs of pine trees and pine cones as fillers all around. You can never have too many holiday decorations. We clear out most of our everyday accents and hide them in the garage while we replace them with all things merry and bright. :)

Q; What fun traditions do you do for the holidays?
Our favorite tradition is on December 6th, which is St. Nicholas Day (celebrated in Europe). The night before, everyone puts their shoes out on the front porch, and in the morning they come out to find them filled with toys and treats from St. Nicholas. :)
