DLD Birthday Bash: Construction Party
Now that my oldest is old enough to have real opinions (and trust me, he does) I let him pick his party theme. I wasn't at first thrilled about the construction party idea, but it grew on me as I found some fun & unique birthday party products to use for it. Like the construction cone cups.... um, yeah they're my favorite. Plus the kids loved them of course!
I took the easy way out & bought a cake from Cold Stone (a peanut butter chocolate one, I might add). Then I just added a few machines that I got from Amazon and some candy rocks that you can buy at WinCo. It was seriously the easiest cake ever!
For the treat bags I found the cutest little bubble gum front loaders, then some little plastic construction works & road sign suckers. Then I used little toy shovels to close the bags (just put the top of the treat bag through the shovel handle). Easy & cute.
We served "rock" sprinkled peanut butter bars from the back of a toy dump truck & added white icing to some Cocoa Cremes to make them look like tires. This was actually a really basic party to plan (literally everything except the food & balloons was ordered online, which made it sooo easy). Now, onto party #3 for this month (every person in my family has birthdays in February except me... it's chaos)! Anyone else party planning at the moment?
