A Tradition Returns: Macy's Candy Windows

As many of you recall, Macy's department store here in downtown Utah, was once the home of ZCMI. A family owned store founded in 1975 and later sold in 2007. If you remember ZCMI's around the holidays, then you might remember the ornately decorated candy window. The holiday windows date back to the early 1970s when ZCMI would traditionally unveil the displays the night after Thanksgiving. It was a huge draw every year, and a must see for anyone coming downtown during the Christmas season. For the past 5 years, these windows have been MIA due to the construction of City Creek, a popular outdoor mall.Well my friends, I am THRILLED to announce that the candy windows are back! Tonight at 6:00, Macy's will be unveiling the 6 designed candy windows. Be sure to head down to City Creek for the festivities and fireworks!Images from past windowsSneak Previews of tonight's window courtesy of KSL.comHave a wonderful day!
