Woodland Wedding Inspiration- Design Loves Detail

Now that the smell of Apple Cider is in the air & crisp leaves are crunching beneath our feet, it seems like the perfect time to share some of the charming details from one of our favorite Fall photo shoots--  A Woodland Inspired Wedding. Amanda & I spent months bringing this dream to fruition. With a group of talented vendors we were able to pull it all together to create a warm and inviting woodland world-- no detail spared of course! Many of these ideas would be fun to implement for a Fall party or Thanksgiving celebration. Check out the feature of this shoot in the 2012 Utah Valley Bride Magazine. Hope you enjoy!

The enchanting table was set with burlap runners, moss, apothecary jars, toad stools, tree stump votive holders, wood planters brimming with stunning floral arrangements done by the amazing Amanda of course (she's humble, but I can boast of her greatness!). The earthy colors make for a subtle, yet inviting tablescape. Oh and don't overlook the chargers, they're up-cycled from an old tree stump-- lovely & environmentally friendly!

Serving apple cider in glass bottles with a cinnamon stick & apple slice makes it so much more festive! I also thought they weren't quite complete without the birch tags I hand stamped with "apple cider". If serving at a wedding it's also fun to use the birch tags for the couple's initials "a+k" or use them as place cards at your Thanksgiving Dinner... who wouldn't want a personalized bottle of apple cider to mark their seat?

Gourmet Caramel Apple Bars are a fun way to serve up some Autumn festivity! Using twigs instead of traditional sticks adds a little rustic detail that's sure to be a crowd-pleaser! The Bungalow provided an assortment of delicious toppings-- toasted coconut, mini chocolate chips, toffee bits, brown sugar, crushed Oreos & more. So tasty!

Another favorite detail of this shoot was the squash soup which was served in hollowed out white pumpkins & acorn squash. It's easy to do & so much more fun to eat this way, trust us! To continue with the rustic flair, I hand painted wooden signage like the one shown above that says "squash soup." The wood I used was picked up from a yard sale, I believe they were once used in a garden to label the plants. Hooray for reclaimed wood!

Here's a close up look at some of the incredible floral centerpieces. The birch pole arrangement, a true original piece of artwork, was the real show-stopper! The accent arrangements carried their own whimsical woodland charm with ferns, birch bark and lots of forest greenery. The handmade toadstools were created from wood craft pieces I had lying around. The one in the photo was just a semi-circle & wooden spool, painted & glued together. Many of the other little wooden toadstools were made from wood knobs-- an easy & fun way to sprinkle some whimsy into the table setting.

Wildflower seeds were a fun & natural wedding favor idea. "Plant Some Love!"

Escort cards were attached by clothespins to some rustic wire to help guests find their seats in our Woodland World (I naturally couldn't resist creating toadstool & snail graphics to adorn these little babies!).

And what Woodland Wedding would be complete without the perfectly adorned Bohemian Bride? Once again, Amanda created a one-of-a-kind floral masterpiece-- check out that incredible halo of greenery. Bliss!

Mismatched chairs, including a giant toadstool seat carved from a Redwood tree, made for the perfect seating set-up. Lots of little twinkly lights made our tablescape even more charming in the evening. Now don't you want to cozy up with a mug of Apple Cider & get to planning a festive Fall event? We hope so! To help out, we've got lots more Fall enchantment (including some free printables) coming your way soon! Happy Autumn.   ** TO SEE MORE IMAGES FROM THIS SHOOT FOLLOW US ON PINTEREST! **Photo Shoot Concept, Design & Planning: Design Loves Detail (Branches Event Floral and Polka Dots & Daisies)Venue & Food: The BungalowFloral: Branches Event FloralStationery, tags, favors: Polka Dots & DaisiesDress: Gateway BridalCake: Cake-A-LiciousHair & Make-Up: Hair & Make-Up By StephPhotography: Camilla Photography & Azure B PhotographyModel: Pamela Wilcken
