#OneRoomChallenge: Week 5

How to get your walls ready for wallpaper This week has been crazy. Like SO crazy. I have spent zero time on my One Room Challenge space with all the exciting client projects going on... Plus a really cool announcement that I'll share soon (not another baby, haha!). Anyway, just about the only thing that has happened this week is clearing out the room and getting the wall prepped for wallpaper. The wallpaper is getting installed on Monday. How's that for last minute?!Anyway, if you're doing wallpaper make sure you do it right. If you have textured walls you need to have them re-mudded so all the indents are filled and your wallpaper won't look weird. I know this sounds like a lot of work, but it is worth it. They'll have to be sanded smooth after the drywall mud is applied so it takes a few days for this process, but the application is really quick. It took my wallpaper installer like 15 min for the whole wall. Above is a photo of how it looks after the mud has been applied, but still needs sanding. That brings me to another thing... Hire an installer! Don't ruin your wallpaper (or your day) by trying to do it yourself. You know I'm a DIY girl at heart, but I also know what things are worth hiring out and wallpaper is one of them! It needs to be perfect or don't do it!!Okay, end designer rant now. Haha. Hope you all have a wonderful weekend and I'll just be praying this room comes together because I'm crazy busy tomorrow too. Yikes.MollieSignature
