Mother's Day Brunch for Two
Hello & welcome! If you're following this years Mother's Day Table Setting Link loop (which I hope you are) didn't you just love Laila's post? She's amazing! I'm so excited to be part of this talented group put together by my friends Kelley Nan & Randi Garrett, and hope you're finding lots of inspiration. This year, I thought it would be fun to do a more personal "brunch for two" concept as a way to honor mom (of course if you have sisters or grandmas to include that makes sense too!). I wanted to go with a non-traditional idea, so I opted for a bright and festive outdoor soiree with some desert flair inspired by a recent trip I took. Bright colors always make me happy, so I used lots of them for this patio concept & table setting. I also mixed prints for a fresh and funky look. I picked up some inexpensive mini cactus & succulents to add color, plus I pulled a couple of my larger houseplants out for a bit too. I love the colors of natural elements like greenery and succulents, it's a simple way to add some major style.I also wanted to keep things on the simple side. I used colorful paper napkins and the plates are ones I already had. The cute drinks with straws are from Target's Dollar Spot, so pick some up if you can because they're great for all kinds of uses and the straws are thick plastic so they're reusable though they still have the look of the striped paper straws. I thought this concept may be doable even for husbands who want to surprise their wife (hint, HINT!!!). Everything I found is from Target or Home Depot, which are pretty common stores at least around here. Hope these ideas will help for your Spring/Summer entertaining as well as for a little surprise brunch for your mom!
