Lighting that Sparks Controversy: Here’s why I made the selections I did & what I regret!

It’s been the most controversial thing about our new house so far— maybe the only thing I’ve gotten a couple negative comments on— the white plaster lighting! And guess what?? I have approximately zero regrets! Haha. Seriously though, here’s why I wanted to use white plaster lighting in our home…

  1. After so many builds and remodels, I have used a ton of matte black and also a ton of gold tones over the years… so I wanted something different!

  2. With the architectural details of our home— the high ceilings, the wood beams, the stone walls, I actually felt like understated and subtle lighting selections would be perfect way to accent and not overwhelm.

  3. Lighting is pretty easy to update. Compared to other things, especially. So I figured even if a future buyer of our home (heaven forbid we ever leave this dream place) didn’t love the white plaster lighting selections, it shouldn’t be a deal breaker with how easily lights can be swapped out to fit someone’s personal taste.
