Holiday Home Tour: Christmas Family Room & Kitchen

Here's the heart of our home all decked out for the holidays! When I saw this tree in a crate at a local nursery I couldn't resist buying it (on season end closeout of course) and bringing it home (much to my husband's dismay!). haha. It was no easy feat getting it inside, but I personally think it was totally worth it!! It has kind of a handmade feel reminiscent of Christmases gone by, which in my opinion makes for a cozy, natural and inviting atmosphere!

I kept the tree decor simple with the wood bead garlands, bright white & paper mache ornaments, natural wood tones like I used in our entry/office and a little pop of grey/blue. I love the simplicity and slightly Scandinavian feel it has! For the gift wrapping I stuck with neutrals too-- some kraft paper, black with metallic stars & white/cream tones. I'll share some gift wrapping tips & ideas in my Instagram stories soon!

My mantel design in this room is what inspired my entire Christmas decor set up this year! And I've loved seeing how it's inspired many of you too! I adore the mixed textures, abundant natural faux greens & antique looking bells. For me it's the perfect blend of traditional holiday elements combined with an organic look that suits the style of my home. Here's the video I made showing how I put together this look for my mantel:

I also love the cozy details like the faux fur throw, plaid pillows and holiday greenery sprinkled throughout. I even wrapped some garlands around my kitchen pendants this year! I think the evergreen accents are timeless & a perfect way to bring that natural feeling indoors. Below I linked the items I used (or very similar) so you can get this look for your own space. Next stop on the tour will be my dining room & holiday table settings! Can't wait!
