We love Angie's unique, fresh style & her DIY skills! Don't you just adore that painted piano? I sure do. Here are a few words of wisdom from Angie, explaining how she updated her now to-die-for living room...

"After 3 years in our home, I finally designed the living room. My problem was, I had my mothers piano centered in the middle wall and didn't know how to work around it. The other issue was, I didn't love color of the piano, it had an old reddish tint that didn't fit my style. I asked my mom if she cared if I painted it and she said it was okay, so I started planning. Moving the piano off the center of the wall opened the room up for furniture. After I found my chairs at The Quilt Shop and my love seat at Down to Earth in Gardner Village I discovered the direction I wanted to go with the room, everything else just worked its way out. I wanted the piano to still be a focal point in the room and I love using color to decorate-- bright blue was a perfect shade for the piano to give it a nice pop. Another big change to the room were the curtains.  I purchased white curtains from IKEA and a black sheet which I cut into stripes and sewed onto the white curtains for a grand total of $35.  By raising the curtains higher on the window it made the room seem larger. Now the one room in my house that I struggled with the most, has become my favorite!!"
