Easy & Festive Holiday Cookies

We hope you all had a lovely & relaxing Thanksgiving! It's "Kick off Christmas" week here at DLD and we're excited to bring you some fresh and fun holiday inspiration. Today's post is a recipe you'll definitely want to keep on hand for those last minute holiday dessert needs. These cake mix cookies are perfect for dipping in hot cocoa or milk and everyone will think you spent hours baking them to perfection (when really they only take 15-20 minutes, start to finish)! Gotta love that. Oh and Old St. Nick has a soft spot for these too-- hint, hint. Here's the the recipe...

• 1 Devils Food Cake Mix
• 1/2 Cup Extra Virgin Olive Oil (light tasting)
• 1/4 Cup Flour
• 2 Eggs
• Crushed Candy Canes

Directions: Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Mix all ingredients. Roll dough into balls, place on cookie sheet & flatten slightly with the bottom of a glass. Bake for 8 minutes.

Let cookies cool slightly, then sprinkle on crushed candy canes (press the candy cane pieces into the cookies gently with the bottom of a glass).

** note: if you want them extra minty, just mix some of the crushed candy canes into the cookie dough before baking! **
