#DLDCottonwoodRemodel: Client Project Reveal
This client project is one from last Summer that I forgot to share with all the craziness of finishing our basement! My client had some details that had to stay, like the wood trim, wood flooring and furniture in master bedroom, but we were able to freshen up the space with a new vanity, tile & new accessories! It's amazing how much better it feels now! The original floor plan was super weird too with the master bathroom basically being INSIDE the master bedroom-- no separation! Here's the before pic (below) to show you what I'm talking about! We added a divider wall with trim and tied it in to the existing woodwork with the open frame design above the wall.
This open air concept allows light to pass between the 2 rooms, but still gives some privacy & separation between the spaces, unlike the way it was originally with it being completely open (see the pic above)! So strange, right?!
The detail on the new floating vanity was inspired by my own master bathroom vanity which my client fell in love with! We did a little different version with dark stain to mix it up a bit. Now it's got that high end boutique hotel feel that I just love! And the free-standing tub is such an improvement from the old build in one. It's way more updated & also takes up SO much less space, which is a win!!
The divider wall we added also gave a great place for the bed to go. Even though we technically made the master bedroom space a bit smaller by not having it share with the bathroom area, it actually feels bigger because of the fresh white paint and better layout! The back side of the wall that's in the bathroom space made a great spot for a bench to go-- another high end feeling detail that is a practical place to sit down to put shoes on and so forth! This master suite is now a fresh, functional & inviting place to be that's up to date too!
