DIY Mermaid Birthday Party Ideas by Design Loves Detail!

I'm so excited to share this fun Mermaid DIY party I did for my daughters Birthday! It was a lot of work, but a lot of fun and the girls loved it. I also got to live out another one of my inner-child dreams because I grew up being obsessed with the ocean and totally wanted to be a Mermaid! I made the cake, starfish wands, clam cookies, jellyfish decor and called on The Bakeaholic to make the beautiful sugar cookies! Aren't the incredible?! I was seriously giddy when I saw them-- my little girl and her friends had the same reaction. They're almost too pretty to eat, but they tasted so incredible that I'm glad I took the plunge! We did a light brunch type menu since the party was at 10 am. We did fruit cups with star-shaped watermelon with honeydew & cantaloupe, strawberry Mer-milk, sprinkle-covered donut holes and cookies. After eating the girls decorated flip flops! Enjoy the beautiful images by Jessie Alexis Photography.SUPPLIES LINKS:Sand Castle Bundt Cake Pan (this is the best!
