Designer Tricks of the Trade: Exposed Brick Wall Without the Hassle!
Brick is one of my favorite textures, but if you're not one of the few lucky ones who owns an old home and peels back layers of drywall to find stunning old antique brick, then you're probably like most of us... wondering how to get the look without the hassle & cost. I've got a fun little project to share that will answer that question for you. These custom built hallway entry shelves needed a fun backdrop and painted brick was just the ticket, but this look was achieved with minimal cost, time & effort thanks to my friends over at Devine Color... it's removable brick wallpaper! That's right... a project your hubby might just say yes to! It's not messy since there's no paste or glue, it is self adhesive and attaches to your smooth surface easily. Which means you can change it out whenever you're ready to, and when you see how many awesome textures and options Devine Color offers, you may just want to change it up on occasion (hint: this brick pattern also comes in grey!). And can you believe it's so reasonably priced too?! Win, win & win. One of my favorite things about this client project is how useful this space at the end of the hallway became. This area is just off the entry so having baskets to store shoes and lots of upper shelves for display made this space so much more functional. The beautiful shelves were built by her husband (@blockGwoodworks) and they were so fun to style. You can see more of this gorgeous home on instagram @SouthernFarmhouseOutWest.
