Decking the Halls with Design Loves Detail
It's the most wonderful time of the year and hopefully you've just seen the gorgeous home of my friend LoveBec! Our Blogger Holiday Home Tour has been so much fun and we hope you're gathering lots of inspiration. For those of you who are new to my blog, I'm Mollie of Design Loves Detail. I'm an interior designer lucky enough to live amidst the gorgeous mountains of Utah. This year for my Christmas decor I wanted to bring a mix of luxurious textures, natural elements and some playful pops of pastel. For my Christmas tree, I kept things simple & refined with mostly white ornaments and garlands plus a few additions of rose gold & silver for just a touch of holiday bling. Our stockings are fur & velvet for a luxurious feel and the mantle is adorned with evergreen and antlers to keep that natural & organic feel. I've been focusing this year on simplifying and decluttering. I got rid of 5 bins of Christmas decor this year and tried to add more basic elements to our home like the pine cone & evergreen swag over the bench alcove light and a simple wreath on the kitchen hood. I also love using plaid for this time of year. Like the white & grey plaid rug and the lovely brushstroke pillows from Stagg Design Shop's new line. One other thing I like to do with Christmas and holiday decor is to go with the feel the room already has... I have a lot of pastels and light, airy tones in my family room so I used decor that had a similar feel like the pastel trees and white village. And how fun are those garlands from Pearl & Jane?! I love the sparkle of those blush pink letters & silver stars. You'll notice my entryway has more moody, rich tones like the wall color and metallics so the decor I used in that space is true to that feeling-- a little more refined and bold.SHOP MY CHRISTMAS DECOR:[show_shopthepost_widget id="2199403"]
