Countertop Dreams Coming True!!

Lavezzi Quartzite (honed finish)

I can hardly contain my excitement as the day has finally arrived – our countertops are being installed! After months and months of planning, selecting materials, and eagerly anticipating this moment, the vision for our dream home is beginning to materialize. There's something uniquely thrilling about seeing the finishing touches come to life— especially after literal years in the making! Here are some sneak peeks of the countertop materials I used for each space. I splurged for the kitchens + primary bathroom and then went more cost effective for laundry rooms. For most of the other bathrooms I was able to use remnant pieces to save on cost as well!

Kitchen/Pantry— Lavezzi Quartzite

Main Level Half Bath— Taj Mahal Quartzite

Primary Bathroom— Lavezzi Quartzite

Upper Kids Bath— Lavezzi Quartzite

Basement Kids Bath— Concrete Grey Quartz

Basement Half Bath— Infinity White Quartzite

Basement Kitchen— Taj Mahal Quartzite

Basement Laundry— Black Mist Granite

On left is the Lavezzi— I love this one because it mixes cool & warm tones. The veining is more warm taupe-y tones while the main color is a soft grey. On the right is the Infinity White Quartzite. This one has more bold white/black contrast. I definitely love the finer veining in both these options & can’t wait to show you how the full design comes together! I used quartzite in my last kitchen, on the island, and loved how it held up. It’s harder than granite, but some kinds can scratch. I didn’t have any issues with this, but I’ve heard some people have.

Black Mist Granite— this is one of the more affordable options I used! Mine was actually supposed to be honed, but they installed polished so it’s going to have to get honed on site. Stay tuned for that— I didn’t even know this could be done, but we shall see! I am loving the bold black countertop with neutral cabinets (Ben Moore Pashmina). This countertop when honed reminds me a bit of soapstone— which is part of what drew me to it!

Taj Mahal Quartzite (honed finish)— such a statement maker and one I’ve wanted to use for years! The cost always deterred me before, but decided to splurge because this wall with integrated shelf is such a moment. I love how the tones are so subtle. They’re quite neutral but lean a little warm which I love. I paired it with Sherwin-Williams Morris Room Grey for perimeter cabs and island Ben Moore Collingwood (with subtle brown glaze over).

More Lavezzi Quartzite—This was a different slab than I used in our kitchen or primary bathroom and you can see it has some gorgeous natural variety!

Concrete Grey Quartz— I wanted something minimal for my boys bathroom & this was just the ticket! The simple grey concrete look lets the natural stone sinks take center stage, while also tying in with my patterned floor tile. I love the more raw look this bathroom has. It’s been a fun one to design!
