Adding Simple Christmas Touches
Here’s a look at what we’ve been up to this week! We decorated our tree and kept it simple with paper snowflakes, wood ornaments & beaded stars. Our tree is a live one in planter box we got from the local nursery! It’s a Mondell Pine. Last year we did the same thing and were able to plant the tree in our backyard after Christmas! It’s become a cool tradition for us. We keep the house a bit cooler and make sure it gets plenty of water so it’s ready to plant. You’ll want to keep it inside for as short a time as possible to keep it ready to plant & also ensure it gets lots of sunlight!
I also did our fireplace mantel similar to the tree— layered greenery (cedar & Norfolk pine) then added natural wood beads, gold bells and a paper snowflake garland. For the console under the tv I added some of the newer items with warm tones as shown in the bottle brush trees. It’s been a great way to blend the color of Thanksgiving with my typical Christmas decor.
In the kitchen I added a wreath, advent calendar and potted faux mini tree! All ready for some holiday baking!! And on the dining table a little candle light with brass candle holders, one of my fave metal village houses and pine stems in a concrete vase. I like adding holiday accents that are more subtle & organic so it doesn’t clash with the rest of our house.
Getting so excited that Thanksgiving will be here soon. It’s such a special time of year to spend with loved ones! Wishing you all a very happy Thanksgiving week!
