Shelf Styling Tips + Favorite Decor Pieces!

These glass door bookshelves are some of my favorite furniture pieces to style! I ordered these gorgeous cabinets online from The Home Depot and today I am partnering up with The Home Depot to share a round up of decor essentials that are perfect for accenting your cabinets, shelves & tables. Right now is the perfect time to shop with their President's Day Sale!

One of my top favorites is this versatile potted faux olive tree! I love the petite size because it fits anywhere. I also love that it comes in a cute pot, that's ready to display. Additionally, the greenery adds a fresh feeling to the space without the maintenance of a real plant. Another fave from The Home Depot is my concrete-look pitcher. It adds amazing texture and I love the artifact, aged feel it has. The oversized woven vase is a great decor accent as well, that brings in a natural element and wonderful scale. It looks beautiful on its own or filled with faux stems.

Here are a few quick tips to think about when styling your shelves:

  • Blend different textures and shapes. This keeps gives interest & detail.

  • When adding books-- vary the direction and placement. You'll see I used books in a variety of different ways on these shelves.

  • Add sculptural elements. The metal astericks object is a great example of this. It's a good way to change things up from the more typical shapes.

  • Layer in artwork. I added an art piece on the top of the cabinet and also a smaller one as a background piece inside the cabinet as well.

  • Add faux greenery. I like to include at least 2 faux greenery elements. They give life to the shelves!
